At a painting stage of the car the most difficult thing is to choose a correct color.

fter examining all interior and exterior colors offered by BMW in 1985 for its 6-Series cars, color Polaris #060 has been chosen. I'll remind, that initially the car has been painted in Bronzitbeige #139 which, in my opinion, does not match well with the anthracite interior and a black leather upholstery of seats.

The best color I saw was either acrylic black one, or a silvery metallic. I have chosen the silvery one because this color correctly accentuates all body lines and curves, thus remaining simple and self-sufficient.

During works with the car body many different models of silvery color, including and E39 in Titansilber #354 have passed through the service.

But I did not like any of them too much, till I came across the Sterlingsilber #244 from later BMW modeling years.

It has a deeper silvery shade, which as it seems to me, is a little bit more interesting than standard Polaris.

Before painting an external part of a body we had to paint all doorways, the internal part of a hood, the forward panel and all visible surfaces in a trunk.

Then the car should be completely dried, and the following stage is painting of an all external body parts.

The freshly painted silvery surface brings exciting incredible feelings of renovation and cleanliness. Looking at it, you receive the most powerful charge of pleasure, though as a matter of fact it is only a piece of iron 20-years old.
